Settled on the southeast shore of Australia’s most isolated state, Hobart was born resourceful and independent. But it wasn’t until after MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art, opened in 2011 that residents started to really embrace their home-grown culture and push it to its full potential. Today, Hobart’s creative class is upcycling, crafting and curing their beautiful city into a bastion of sustainable fashion, design and cuisine.
